Kids Hope Mentoring

Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them; for the kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these.

Matthew 19:14-15

What are we?

Kids Hope is a mentoring program between a local church and a local primary school, in our case Ringwood North Primary School.

The program involves one to one contact by the mentor with a student for one hour a week during school time.

It is about the student and mentor becoming friends in a caring relationship by sharing activities together. Mentors are linked to children who could do with a good, reliable and supporting friend.

The secret is basically just turning up for your child.

Mentoring improves a student’s abilities in general health and wellbeing, social acceptance and confidence. Some may be distracted from time to time, but they LOVE the contact and it is a rewarding experience for the mentors as well.

When does it happen?

Meeting time with a student is arranged between the teacher and mentor

Who is it for?

Anyone who loves involvement with children and has the time available. Training is required and provided as is a ‘Working With Children Check’
